Exiscan-Wins-Biz-Plan-ContestExiscan is honored to have received first place in the Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest.

Exiscan was selected over more than 40 other high-tech start-up companies in the Rochester area. At a recognition luncheon following the final presentations on April 15th, 2011, Tim Rohrer, Exiscan's President and Founder, was awarded a $25,000 cash prize, and other services from High-Tech Rochester, RIT and the University of Rochester, among other sponsors of the event.

"This is a great honor," said Rohrer. "The other companies in the competition were really impressive -- I was honestly blown away by some of the other concepts presented."

So what will Exiscan do with it windfall? As with most start-ups, every cent is already spoken for: Rohrer says "the award is well timed. We have several product development initiatives and testing that will make quick work of that money."

Exiscan is based on 1645 Lyell Ave in Rochester, NY. The company designs and manufactures a line of electrical safety products for use in electrical condition monitoring. The primary focus has been on developing an industrial-grade infrared (IR) window to make electrical inspections quicker, safer and more accurate than previously possible. Exiscan's XIR series of IR windows is renowned in the industry for it's unprecedented durability and strength.
